Yoga

This ancient art, which has been lovingly and carefully passed from teacher to student for over two thousand years is finding a new revival as science provides evidence of its effectiveness in treating emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety and healing childhood traumas. In fact, yoga and mindfulness are closely related. They share the attitudes listed above, the focus on the present, compassion and acceptance and the common humanity. Meditation (the baseline of mindfulness) is the 7th step in the 8 limbs of raja yoga. What we commonly refer to as yoga, the asana practice, is the third step. The second step, pranayama is the use of breath.

Our classes are structured to weave in mindfulness, dynamic and static stretches and cardio activating flows, tailored to be inclusive.
